MT. EVEREST CLIMB - Chimu's Mountain Climbing Fundraiser for 50 Charities

AUSTIN, USA

Purpose: Chimu's Mountain Climbing Fundraiser for 50 Charities

Start Date: October, 2014

Funding Level: Chimu Funded $52,000 With $133,000 Outside Donations for a Total of $185,000

Lives Directly Impacted: 158,000

SUMMARY

Inti Raymi Fund visited Nepal and provided financial support directly into 50 other non-profit organizations around the globe. During a 2015 Mt. Everest climbing attempt, Chimu wanted to make an impact beyond simply climbing Everest so he decided to make a philanthropic impact. In an attempt to show that “Good is Good" and that "we are all in this together”, Chimu elected to do a matching campaign whereby Chimu matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000 per other non-profit. This matching campaign "took off like wild fire" with hundreds of donations coming into other non-profits arriving from around the world. We were excited and gladly matched dollar for dollar, raising over $185,000 into 50 diverse charities around the world. Chimu contributed $52,000 of the $185,000 raised. You can view a list of NGOs we supported at the bottom of the photo gallery below. Unfortunately, Chimu personally filmed the video below showing the deadly Avalanche on 4/25/15 at Everest Base Camp which caused 19 deaths and 50 critically injured and cancelled the climbing season for 2015.

Every one of us can make the world a better place, no matter how small or big the act of kindness is. For this reason, Chimu, an adventurer and philanthropist founded the Inti Raymi Fund.

Chimu attempted climbing Mt. Everest in May 2015 to bring attention to the Inti Raymi Fund and its Diversity of Sharing.  By attracting focus onto those philanthropies to which he, himself, has given his financial support, he hoped to stimulate public awareness of our global responsibilities.

Through this climbing attempt, Chimu raised over $185,000 into the organizations shown on the bottom image of the photo gallery.  Chimu personally contributed over $52,000 in combination, to all of the charities shown below.

Unfortunately, the National Disaster which occurred on 4/25/15 of the Nepal Earthquake of 7.9 magnitude and the immediately following Avalanches at Everest Base Camp canceled the climbing Season for Chimu and all teammates for the 2015 season.  19 died at Base Camp that event, with over 50 critically injured and roughly 10,000 mortalities in Nepal.  Immediately after the Avalanche, Chimu along with all survivors at BaseCamp, helped with the triage of the critically injured along with the evacuation of the deceased.

This Climb for Your Cause spawned yet another project, after the quake and disasters mentioned above, the Inti Raymi Fund team immediately returned to help an affected community in Nepal with rebuilding efforts of their school at their request.  This additional project is labeled “Nepal 7.9 Earthquake Disaster” https://intiraymifund.org/7-9-earthquake-new-school-construction/

THE MISSION OF THE INTI RAYMI FUNDRAISER

Our mission was to spread awareness by introducing you to the funds’ diverse and growing global portfolio of organizations and ongoing projects to which we have given our support and to encourage you to choose your own cause and share with People. The Inti Raymi Fund matched other people’s donations into their favorite causes simply to promote sharing regardless of which non-profit organization benefits.  Isn’t this really what sharing is about?

If you have any questions, please contact Chimu at info@intiraymifund.org.
